Biography

Maltese soprano Claire Debono graduated from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with a Masters in Music. She won a place on William Christie‘s Le Jardin des Voix and since sung extensively with Les Arts Florissants.

She has sung Anne Trulove (The Rake’s Progress) for Théâtre de la Monnaie, Ilia (Idomeneo) with Les Arts Florissants, Hanako (Hanjo) and Despina (Così fan tutte) for Opéra de Lyon and Théâtre des Champs Elysées, Zerlina (Don Giovanni) for Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie, Vespina in Haydn’s (L’Infedeltà delusa) at the Aix-en-Provence Festival, Minerva and Amore in Monteverdi’s (Il Ritorno d’Ulisse) at the Teatro Real, La Gloire, Phenice and Lucinde in Lully’s Armide for Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, Cupid (Semele) with Christophe Rousset, Isabelle (L’Amant Jaloux) with Jeremie Rhorer, 1st lady (Die Zauberflöte) at Théâtre des Champs-Elysées Purcell’s The Fairy Queen at the Opéra Comique in Paris, BAM and at the Glyndebourne Festival.
